St Mary's Church

St Mary's church has served the community of Dilwyn for well over 800 years and has developed from a quite modest structure to the much extended Grade I listed building that exists today. The tower is the earliest part of the present church and dates to about 1200.
St Mary's still has a church choir and bell ringers but is now part of a team ministry. Activities linked to the church include Prayer Meetings, a Discussion Group, the Mothers Union and various fund raising events.
In recent times a toilet has been added in the tower base which will also enable the church to be used for additional activities, such as the Tuesday coffee mornings, in addition to its regular religious use.
2008 saw the restoration of the organ and the next project is the restoration of the shingle covered spire.
