Dilwyn in Bloom was formed to enter Dilwyn into the National Heart of England in Bloom Competition. The Parish Council fully support this entry and put Dilwyn forward. This project is about local communities improving local areas, by focusing on horticultural enthusiasm, environmental friendliness, sustainable development and community involvement. By taking part in the ‘In Bloom’ we hope to encourage everyone in the community, young and old alike , to take pride in where they live, and to make a valuable contribution to the local area.

The ‘in Bloom’ is a year-round campaign and judges will visit the village on one particular day, which is to be confirmed. During the year we take photographs of the village and any projects we are working on to give to the judges. In 2009 , our first year of entry, we gained a Bronze award for our village and in 2010 Dilwyn received a Silver Gilt award. So there is a lot to live up to in 2011.
